One of the ballads I love to play here on WOBM is "True" from Spandau Ballet.  (It's on today's "Ocean County Cafe" menu in the noon hour.)  The song shows off the emotional dramatic vocals of lead singer Tony Hadley and has a chorus that gets stuck in your head, in a good way.  Contrary to popular belief in the United States, Spandau is not a one-hit-wonder.  The group boasts 23 hit singles and is one of the most influential new wave bands of all time.  If you'd like to know more, I recommend you check out the film "Soul Boys Of The Western World."  I watched the DVD over the weekend and loved how it uses video footage from the early 80s to show the bands rise and fall.  And reunion.  It's a reunion I'm super excited about because Spandau Ballet will be playing in our area February 10th at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank!  I'll bring you more information on that as the tour date approaches, but in the meantime, here's a link to the trailer of "Soul Boys Of The Western World," the documentary about the awesome Spandau Ballet. http://www.spandauballetthemovie.com/#
