If that photo is making your mouth water, it should!

In this day and age of lightning fast delivery (just ask Amazon Prime members), we no longer have to travel to places like Florida or California for some of the best oranges.

In fact, I just got some of the best oranges that I have ever had in my life (and that's including when I've visited Florida!) right here in Ocean County.

Earlier this week, I picked up a bag of Cara Cara oranges from the BJ's on Route 37 in Toms River.

Cara Cara oranges are relatively new in the grand scheme of things. They were first discovered in South America in the late 70s, made it to the U.S. in the 80s, and have been more widely available to people like you and me in the last few years.

They're prized for their almost impossibly juicy ruby red flesh and amazingly sweet flavor.

They're not exactly cheap, but there are truly some things in life where you get what you pay for, and I am not joking when I say that these are the best oranges I have ever eaten!

You can get Cara Cara oranges at most supermarkets right here at home in Ocean County where they'll usually run you about $1.25 each. At BJ's, I got a 5lb bag that had about a dozen oranges for $9.99.

Seriously though, treat yourself, you'll be glad you did! And hurry, the end of the peak season for Cara Cara oranges is right now!
