I am not ashamed to be the first to admit that I am terrible at math. If it weren't for calculators, I have no doubt that I'd still be counting on my fingers. That being said, I'm convinced that we all become complex mathematical geniuses in the middle of the night. Here's what I mean by that:

Let's say your morning alarm is set for 6:45 and you wake up in the middle of the night at 3:27. As I'm writing this now I actually have to write it out to do the math, but you know in the middle of the night you can just glance at the alarm clock and immediately think, "I still have 3 hours and 18 minutes to sleep", just like that.

It's the amazing middle of the night, mostly unconscious math paradox.

At least that's my theory, and I'm sticking to it.

So what do you think, does it work for you, turning into a mathematical savant in the middle of the night? Feel free to leave a comment and join in!
