Armed with details about his appearance, police are hunting for the man who strode into Krauzer's on Toms River Road at about 5:34 PM on August 14, stepped directly behind the counter and dipped into an unlocked cash drawer.

He leaped over the counter top when the owner shouted for him to stop, police said. Outside, a nearby resident pursued him into a patch of woods and saw him remove a black sweatshirt he wore, police said.

They're looking for a Caucasian male, 6'0" to 6'3" in height, with a slim build and short, dark hair. In addition to the sweatshirt, he's described as having worn dark boots or sneakers, a black mask, and black gloves.

Police did not disclose whether the store is equipped with operable surveillance cameras, and if so, whether they were functioning and captured images.

Anyone who can help police narrow down the search should call the department's main line, 732-928-1111.
