Investigators have determined that a red Jeep slid on Oak Ridge Parkway, just north of Oakside Drive, in the hours between late Sunday and early Monday, hitting a 2013 Mazda parked off the road.

Based on shards left at the site, they believe it's a red Jeep Cherokee, likely model year 1994, 1995, or 1996.

It should have extensive damage on its right side, including a missing door handle, smashed rear passenger-side window, and residual damage, and will need repairs, police said.

Additionally, police said, some of the lights may be spray-painted to give the car a "black-out" appearance.

The driver, or anyone who can identify the driver, should contact Officer Adam Koeppen, 732-349-0150, ext. 1350.
