We told you last year about the makeover scheduled for Toms River's oldest park - Huddy Park.

Next year is Toms River's 250th anniversary, and to celebrate, the township is undertaking a project to give the park a fresh coat of paint.

The plans include a rebuilt Blockhouse, new landscaping, benches, and sidewalks.

The full project is expected to cost about a million dollars and be ready in time to rededicate the park next year for Toms River's 250th anniversary.

It'll all be kicked off this Friday with a groundbreaking ceremony with township dignitaries, including Mayor Thomas Kelaher.

If you'd like to be part of the ceremony, it'll be taking place at the current Blockhouse at 3:00pm on Friday.
