Friday evening was one of the worst drives I've had this winter. The heavy, wet snow made the Parkway a slushy mess, and the fact that only one lane was marginally clear made the drive home a white knuckle, low speed stressfest. And then I came home to what you see above.

A neighbor had shoveled the sidewalk in front of all of the homes in the neighborhood, and stopped at mine.

This is the third time that this has happened this winter.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't expect someone else to do my shoveling (actually, I do, the homeowner's association should be, but that's a whole different blog), but you'd think that if someone is going to help out their neighbors, that they wouldn't blatantly leave one single home out.

It wasn't even the amount of work that bothered me. Actually it was just the opposite, it was the fact that it would have taken maybe three scoops to complete the path to include my patio as well. But for some reason, my neighbor decided to stop before getting to mine. And again, this has happened repeatedly this season.

In fact, you can see in the photo that the shoveler even walked on the snow on my patio so as to more thoroughly clear the patio next door.

The weird part is that I don't know if this neighbor has an issue with me, or if this is just someone who isn't all that thoughtful.

Again, it's more the symbolism that bothers me, not the actual work. It's the statement that's almost, "I'm going to do something nice for everyone on the block except you".

What do you think, am I over thinking the whole thing or is it just another example of how people are more inconsiderate these days?
