With Memorial Day having come and gone I know many of you are wondering when I will once again reveal my “Ten Commandments of the Beach.”  It’s an annual tradition that is as much a part of summer as ice cream, running through sprinklers and strolling the boardwalk.  Well today is not that day although it’s coming real soon.

However my colleague Justin Louis, who hosts the afternoon show on 92.7 WOBM decided to try and steal a bit of my thunder by posting a blog Tuesday about his five beach etiquette rules for visitors to the Jersey Shore this summer.  They are:

  1. Clean Up After Yourselves
  2. Stay off the Dunes
  3. Don’t feed the Seagulls
  4. If you’re a smoker, be considerate
  5. Be considerate of families

Nicely done, Justin but remember only I get to issue the true beach commandments and that’s coming real soon to the Hometown View.

If you’re a Netflix subscriber and have not yet caught the series “Bloodline” then I strongly suggest you find time to do so.  I binged-watched the 13 episodes that made up season one just so I could start season two with my wife when it was released last weekend and we are more than halfway through that.

The show is about a well-known family in the Florida Keys with plenty of dark secrets. A very strong cast including Kyle Chandler and Sissy Spacek if you can give it a look.
