How Do You Get Rid Of Stink Bugs?
No one wants these things in their house, so what's the best way to get rid of them? If you live in Laos, you could eat them; the insects are sometimes pounded together with spices and a seasoning to prepare cheo, a paste mixed with chilies and herbs.
That sounds horrific.
The stink bugs do have a natural predator in China, the Trissolcus halyomorphae, a type of parasitoid wasp. This wasp lays eggs into the eggs of the stinkbug, which then hatch and kill the stinker. The wasps aren't native to the United States, but are being explored as an option.
If you don't want to eat bugs or be overrun by wasps, there is a simple solution.
Virginia Tech University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences found the best way to get rid of the pests, even more effective than store-bought traps.
Step 1 - Fill a foil roasting pan with water and dish soap
Step 2 - Put a light over the pan to attract the bugs in a dark room
Step 3 - Clean up dead bugs
