How cold was it in New Jersey on Sunday morning?

Temperatures around the state dipped below zero. A low temperature in Newark of zero was the coldest recorded temperature since 2004 and tied a record from 1979. New York City set a new record by hitting -1 in Central Park just before midnight on Saturday night, its coldest temperature since 1994.

A bit of good news: JCP&L, PSE&G and Atlantic City Electric ha no major outages on their respective outage maps.

The New Jersey Weather and Climate Network at Rutgers reported temperatures of -10 at High Point Monument, -4 in Wantage and -3 in Charlottteburg and Netcong.

It's so cold that spilled coffee froze to the street (see the gallery above)

Temperatures were expected to be in the teens across New Jersey on Sunday under sunny skies. Snow moves in on Monday that mixes with and turns to rain by evening as temperatures rise to 40. Keep an eye on Meteorologist Dan Zarrow's Weather Blog for updates.
