All the news about how bad of a flu season this is and will be has prompted procrastinators to finally get a flu shot.  The problem is many places that give the vaccinations don’t have them because of the high demand.

I was able to get one on Saturday but after finally talking my wife into the shot she called several pharmacies who publicize having them only to find out they were all out.  Many will put you on a waiting list but can’t promise when they’ll have enough vaccines to take care of all the names on the list.

I can tell you the Ocean County Health Department has added several flu clinics this week at their locations in Toms River, Lakewood and Manahawkin.   You can call them at (732) 341-9700 or visit their web site at  It takes up to two weeks for the vaccine to take full effect and with reports that early next month might be the height of flu season it’s not too late to protect yourself and others.
