Sheila McFadden, 46, was served with a criminal summons in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, where she's been since mid-December after being arrested by Lakewood police, authorities said.

The victim had hired McFadden through All Heart Home Care of Manasquan, authorities said.

According to investigators, Lakewood police apprehended her on December 19, allegedly while she was cashing one of the stolen checks. She was charged with forgery and receiving stolen property.

A Brick Township officer later determined that 11 other checks had been cashed against the victim's account.

The probe is still open, and police are looking for anyone with information that would shed more light. Detective Michael Bevacqua can be reached at 732-262-4612.
