Police arrived on scene around 8:30 pm Friday night in response to a structure fire in the Renaissance development at 1 Ignatius Drive.

Due to the intensity of the heat, smoke and fire police say they were unable to make entry to save the couple inside.

After the fire was put out, 82-year-old June Hollander and her 84-year-old husband Warren were found deceased in the master bedroom.

Police evacuated nearby neighbors as a precaution and many homes sustained minor-heat related damage.

Two firefighters needed medical treatment after the fire was put out.

The fire is being investigated by the Ocean County Fire Marshall's office, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Manchester Police Detective Adam Emmons.

Firefighters from the Whiting Fire Department, Manchester Fire Department, Ridgeway Fire Department, Lakehurst Borough Fire Department, Pleasant Plains Fire Department, and Toms River Fire Department's #1 and #2 responded to the scene an extinguished the fire.

The Manchester Township building inspector, JCP&L, and NJ Natural Gas also assisted at the scene.

EMT's from Quality Medical Transport and Manchester First Aid responded to the scene where they treated two firemen for minor injuries.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation unit, and the Ocean County Medical Examiner's Office also assisted in the investigation.
