TRENTON — As the polls closed in New Jersey, Democrat Hillary Clinton was been declared the winner of the state.

Clinton won the state's 14 Electorial College votes towards the needed 270 to clinch the White House.

Turnout was reported to be heavy around the state, which traditionally votes Democratic. Clinton did not campaign much in the state but stumped at Atlantic City's Trump Plaza in support of striking employees. Daughter Chelsea Clinton also made several campaign appearances in the state.

Clinton had the support of New Jersey rock icons Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi, who both appeared at her final campaign rally Monday night at Philadelphia's Independence Hall.
