Here’s why Ocean County is better than Monmouth County

Oh jeez. Did I ignite a sibling rivalry? Sorry, that's not my intention. It's just that in my opinion, I think that Ocean County has so much more to offer than Monmouth County.

Maybe it's because I was born and raised in Ocean County? Maybe it's because Ocean County is all I really know, perhaps? Don't get me wrong, I love Monmouth County - just not more than Ocean County. I would go as far as saying that Ocean County is the best county in the whole state. Too much? I think not.

I think this for a couple of reasons, the main one being that we have some of the best beaches at the Jersey Shore. Hey, there is a reason why Jersey Shore is filming in Seaside Heights.

Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasent, I would say, is one of the nicest boardwalks in the state. When I am choosing how to spend a night, I usually end up here with a bunch of friends. Not only is the boardwalk really nice, it's also very family friendly. It's loaded with arcades and fun games for the kids - and not to mention the very famous Jenkinson's Aquarium.

Ocean County is also home base for thrill seekers everywhere. Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson attracts people from all over the tri-state area. Not to mention that the theme park is home to the tallest roller coaster in the world, Kingda Ka! Now that's something to be proud about!

Another great place to take the kids or hang out with friends: Casino Pier. Not only does this pier have some of the best food imaginable, it's home to fun rides and action-packed arcades. Not to mention the refreshing Breakwater Beach just across the way!

The Barnegat Lighthouse, Island Beach State Park, The East Coast Escape Room, Blackbeard's Cave, Top Gun Paintball, The River Lady, The Jackson Premium Outlets, The Lakewood BlueClaws, and I can't forget the Popcorn Park Zoo!

I think when it comes down to it, I can list a whole bunch of reasons why I love living and doing things in Ocean County - because it's home. I think that it's safe to say that I am going to start a rivalry that never existed, but it's going to be totally worth it when I see the comments.
