If it’s December it means the WOBM Christmas Classic is right around the corner and the 32nd edition of the shore’s premier holiday basketball tournament returns to the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River with first round games on December 19th and 20th.

As it’s been for years 16 boys and 16 girls teams will play a total of 52 games over seven days before the champions are crowned on December 30th. With a host of returning players the Toms River North Mariners are back to defend their boys championship while on the girls side Manasquan will be shooting for their 3rd straight WOBM title.

The only changes in the field find Wall replacing Brick in the boys division while on the girl’s side first-time entrant Sayreville fills the spot vacated by Shore Regional. Official seeds and pairings will be announced on December 15th during the annual “Tipoff Breakfast” at the Clarion Hotel & Conference Center in Toms River. Play begins on Saturday, December 19th with eight boys first-round games in both gyms inside the Pine Belt Arena with the girls to play their first round games the next day (Sunday, December 20th).
