The four-and-a-half-acre tract at the tip of Colorado Avenue at Lanes Mill Road, formerly Colorado Park, was given a new identity in what Mayor John Ducey views as a stronger identification factor for everyone in the township.

"This beautiful new park is something that residents throughout the northern section of town have wanted for many years," Mayor Ducey said in prepared remarks. "The name Herbertsville Park now reflects the pride that so many here take in their community."

The acreage, compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, contains two playgrounds, two basketball courts, a softball-baseball field, a walking path, upgraded parking and several hundred freshly-planted trees and shrubs.

Completion of Herbertsville Park follows on the heels of improvemets at Bay Harbor Beach Park, and precedes anticipated Spring completion of renovations to Lake Riviera and Angela Hibbard parks.
