Helping Military And Veterans Families With Homeruns For Heroes [AUDIO]

Shawn & Sue and the Lakewood BlueClaws begin a weekly series Homeruns For Heroes to help military families.

All season designated military-related charities will get donations when BlueClaw players hit homeruns as part of a joint partnership with the OceanFirst Foundation.

2013 is the fifth year of the program which, through 2012, raised over $100,000 for local military-based charities.

Each week we will feature a different charity. This week: Vetgroup/Vetwork, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting our honorably discharged veterans in coming home, getting situated, receiving financial, social, and medical aid, and readjusting to their domestic life in the U.S.

Their history and commitment to our patriotic heroes enables them to provide resources many veterans may not be able to acquire by themselves, or, in some cases, may not even be aware of at all. Call (609) 971 - 7613 for more information.
