Healthy Treat Chain Announces Expansion Into Brick

If you've never heard of a "Playa Bowl", you'll be forgiven. But given the Monmouth County treat shop's success, it won't be long until you've not only heard of it, but you'll probably be seeing a location in your area soon!

To give you a quick primer - Playa Bowls started in Belmar when two Monmouth County locals were inspired to offer their hometown a unique and healthy treat.

The signature concoctions are their Acai bowls, which start with blended organic acai, and can include everything from banana, to coconut, and even nutella and granola.

Their original location is on Ocean Ave in Belmar, and they've since opened shops in Manasquan, Bay Head, and even up at Rutgers, among their 9 current locations.

And just today, my colleague Laurie Cataldo let it slip that they'll be coming to Brick in the coming months, with a Mantoloking Road restaurant targeted for the spring.
