Residents in Southern Ocean County have a new addition to their neighborhood that brings medicine & history together in one place! AtlantiCare had it's grand opening celebration of their new center located on Route 72 in Manahawkin this week. The new 60,000 "health park" is located at 517 Route 37 West in Stafford Township.

What’s very cool and very local is the “decor” of the new center. According to officials from AtlantiCare the new “health park” features more than 90 pieces of artwork from 41 artists. The artwork is funded through AtlantiCare’s Healing Arts Program as part of AtlantiCare’s commitment to including regional art in its facilities to create a peaceful, healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

The theme of the artwork collection is “healing through nature.” It includes two-dimensional and three-dimensional original pieces and prints. Oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; gicleé prints; mixed media art; photography; mosaics; ceramics; fabric art; collages; and sculptures are some of the many different art forms.

Among the iconic images …. Jersey Shore beaches, marine life and the shack, which was a historic landmark destroyed during Hurricane Sandy.

Bring health and heritage together here at the Jersey Shore!
