Head-on collision injures 2 in Jackson

A head-on collision in Jackson injured two people Saturday night, according to police. 

59-year-old Joseph Santangelo of Howell was travelling eastbound on West Veteran's Highway when his vehicle crossed the center line near Thompson Bridge Road around 6:13 p.m. and struck a vehicle being driven by 34-year-old Joseph Zippo of Jackson, according to a news release on the Jackson Police Department's Facebook page.

Both drivers had to be extricated from their vehicles. Zippo was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Both drivers sustained non-life threatening injuries and broken bones, according to police.
