Postmodern Jukebox is my latest favorite thing.  It's an ensemble of super talented musicians, singers, and dancers who perform modern songs with a retro sound.  They're playing a show in Red Bank tonight so if you're looking for something to do, you might want to go!  I saw them recently and it was a most enjoyable evening!  Check out this video of Scott Bradlee's PMJ doing "All About That Bass" to get a quick idea of what they do:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLnZ1NQm2uk

Doesn't it take you back to the good old days?  All the performers were elegant and glamourous.  Yet the whole evening had a sense of fun and hipness to it.  Like everyone in the crowd could feel we were watching something very special.  Something that's catching on with each share of one of their video clips on social media.

American Idol fans will be interested to know that fan favorites Haley Reinhard and Casey Abrams are part of this cool group!

Among the cover songs you might hear if you go to the show at the Count Basie tonight: "Halo" by Beyonce, "Womanizer" by Britney Spears, "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga.  They even did the themes to "Star Wars" and "Titanic!"

I have my 18 year old niece to thank for telling me about Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox.  Now I'm hooked.  Have any of the  younger people in your life turned you on to some music that you really like?  Please share in the Comments section.
