You won't believe what just happened on yesterday's episode of a popular TV show!

Don't worry, I won't spoil it, but a lot of people were angry at a TV network this past weekend that let a major spoiler out about one of their most popular shows.

This past Sunday's episode of mega-popular show "The Walking Dead" included a game changing moment involving a major character.

Lots of fans posted, tweeted, and shared their thoughts immediately, potentially ruining the surprise for friends who planned to watch the show later, but AMC went a step further by posting a picture with text mourning the now deceased character.

There was one big problem with this - anyone on the West Coast who saw the public posting just got the big surprise spoiled nearly three hours before the episode aired on their local affiliates.

Oops.

The backlash was pretty harsh and, to their credit, AMC realized that they messed up and issued an apology (oh, by the way, don't click that link if you still haven't watched the episode).

With popular shows like "The Walking Dead" and "Sons of Anarchy" airing episodes this past week with major plot shockers, it can be tough for time shifting viewers to avoid having the surprises ruined.

Have you been the victim of online spoilers? What rules do you try to stick by when it comes to discussing major plot points with friends online?
