As I was snugly sleeping in my nice, warm, comfortable bed last night, I was ripped out of my slumber by a searing pain.

My left calf muscle seized up and felt like it was trying to escape my leg through the bone and skin right then and there.

Night time muscle cramping isn't all that uncommon, but one thing is for sure, it definitely isn't a pleasant experience.

The most immediate problem is of course trying to figure out how to make it stop. The worst part is, moving your foot one way gives some relief, but moving it the other way only makes it worse. And, of course, I can never remember which way is the better way.

It was bad enough that my calf is actually still aching now. I've taken the elevator instead of the stairs at work today because it still hurts to flex the muscle.
