Police say they got a flurry of 911 calls about shots in the area of Nathan Avenue and Neal Place at about 9:02 PM on October 15.

Some residents told investigating officers about multiple bursts of gunfire and an unknown vehicle speeding away. Police found shell casings strewn about the street and two cars that were hit by bullets, authorities said, adding that no injuries appear to have resulted.

Detective Robert Maccaquano heads the investigation and can be reached with anonymous information through the tip-line portal at the Manchester Police web page. He can be reached by phone at 732-657-2009, extension 4202.

The township Narcotics Enforcement Team, Police Patrol Bureau and the Ocean County Sheriff's CSI and K-9 units also assisted in the probe.
