Guilty plea in Lakewood child sex assault case
A suspected child predator from Lakewood pleads guilty to aggravated sexual assault and awaits sentencing.
Carl A. Creadle, 47, entered his plea Tuesday in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River, according to information from the office of County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato. He had been behind bars since his March 1 arrest, when his bail had been set at $100,000 in full.
Investigators said that Creadle was familiar with the six-year-old, and that an individual living in the victim's home in the township witnessed the February incident there and informed the youngster's parents.
Sentencing follows psychological evaluations for Creadle. Prosecutors are asking for a 15-year prison term, parole supervision for life, registration as as sex offender under Megan's Law and a ban on contact with the victim under Nicole's Law.
