We all know that Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson is well regarded for its thrills, but did you also know that the famous safari is also praised nationally?

A trio of Great Adventure's animal programs were just recognized by the Zoological Association of America with their Education Award of Excellence.

The programs that were singled out for the honor are:

The Safari Off Road Education program, which offers learning programs throughout the park's Safari area for grades K through 8.

The Wild Encounters program, which brings some of Great Adventure's animals directly to classrooms.

And the Silver Safari program, which offers private guided safari tours for adults age 55+.

The Zoological Association of America is a non-profit that, "... promotes responsible ownership, management, conservation, and propagation of animals in both privately funded and publicly funded facilities through professional standards in husbandry, animal care, safety and ethics."

If you'd be interested in learning more about the educational side of Great Adventure, you can get in touch with them by calling the Six Flags Safari Programs team at 732-928-2000 ext. 2221 or by emailing safariprograms@sixflags.com

Congratulations, Great Adventure, on this well deserved honor!
