A woman who had been living with her grandmother in a Brick Township adult community for two weeks after graduating from a drug rehabilitation program, admitted Thursday to beating the 94-year-old two times within days while drunk, causing her death.

The Asbury Park Press reports 39-year-old Katherine Schubert pleaded guilty to manslaughter in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River, detailing the events that led to the fatal beating of Mary Driscoll in May, 2014.

Schubert admitted leaving her grandmother beaten, without food, for an entire weekend, and beating her a second time while trying to get her ready for bed, according to Prosecutors.

Prosecutors will recommend an eight-year prison term for Schubert when she's sentenced on June 10. A manslaughter charge comes with a 10-year prison term.

Schubert forfeited her right to pursue an intoxication defense, according to the Asbury Park Press. She must serve 85 percent of her sentence before being considered for parole under New Jersey's No Early Release Act.
