Good News and Bad News as Temps Rise [POLL/AUDIO]

This warmer weather that we have all been looking forward to could be a case of "be careful what you wish for."

The piles of snow that are the result of several recent winter storms could produce some flooding if they begin to melt too quickly, according to Joe Miketta, meteorologist at the National Weather Service's Mount Holly office.

"You'll have all this melt water sitting on the roads, and it really doesn't have any place to drain," Miketta said.

Despite the fact that it is warmer in the daytime, Miketta said "some of the temperatures are going to go still below freezing at nighttime, and so some of that will freeze on the roadways."

There is also some worry about ice in rivers and streams. If it melts too rapidly, it could cause river or stream flooding. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for Friday for Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, Mercer, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, Morris, Essex and Passaic counties.

But despite the unseasonably warm temperatures expected for the end of this week, weather experts are hinting about a return to the cold and snowy side of the season next week.
