Stories about things going bump in the night in Barnegat's shuttered Elizabeth V. Edwards School on Route 9 have been circulating for years. Now the public will find out whether ghosts really are present.

The South Jersey Paranormal Research Group spent four hours in the 1930's building last month conducting a free investigation. Its findings will be revealed this weekend through a live presentation using audio and video evidence. People will also share their experiences about the school, which has been closed since 2004.

Bill Cox, Barnegat School District's Security Adviser, plans on sharing his stories as well and tells WOBM News he once saw the second floor lit up only to learn the following day the light fixtures had been removed because of leaks in the ceiling.

Those brave enough to learn whether ghosts exist in the Edwards building can attend one of two "Dead Time Shows" being held Saturday, October 12 at Barnegat High School. Tickets for the 7pm presentation are $5 per person in advance and $6 at the door. Tickets for the 10pm event are $7 at the door. All proceeds will benefit the Barnegat Education Foundation.
