If you love nature, are an avid or wannabe gardener or just like to learn new things, you might want to check out a free event happening Friday.

Rutgers Master Gardeners of Ocean County are hosting their Fall Garden Day.  It will include informative presentations and demonstrations on Attracting Hummingbirds and Butterflies to Your Garden, Love That Bug: Beneficial Insects in the Home Garden, Seashore Gardening, Recycling in the Garden, Hydroponic Gardening and Composting with Worms.
After the main presentations, you can take a guided tour of the display garden.  This free event, "The Good Earth...The Good Life",  is happening at the Rutgers Cooperative Extension building, 1623 Whitesville Road in Toms River.  (There's plenty of parking available.)  Fall Garden Day runs Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will include light refreshments and door prizes.
Organizers are hoping some attendees will bring a non-perishable food item because they want to make a donation to local food pantries. For more information about Friday's event,  call the Master Gardener Helpline at 732-349-1245 or visit www.mgocinc.org.
