Furry Friends Waiting for a Forever Home for Thanksgiving – Group 1

November is "Adopt a Senior Pet" Month.  I'm going to put up several groups of senior cats and dogs coming up in the next couple of days!  These adorable "older" but still so spunky dogs need their forever home.  Thank you to the Popcorn Park Zoo for sending these stories of love and hope for this Thanksgiving! 

Meet Joey!

Joey came to us as a stray and when his owner was located, they said they would be right in for their friend, but time passed and no one ever came, so now Joey is looking for a new home where his friendship will be valued and appreciated. Joey is a 10 year old bright and bubbly beagle that is not letting anything get him down. As a matter of fact, he is always so happy to meet new people and is just the friendliest little guy. He is very well behaved, sociable, outgoing and super sweet. Joey is spunky, active and playful too! Unfortunately Joey was never well-socialized with other pets so he will need a home with no other dogs or cats, and also no kids under 10. Please don't let that stop you from meet our favorite beagle Joey.....he is such a doll and will love you forever if you give him the chance.

Meet Dozer!

Dozer is a beautiful 9 year old German shepherd that would love to just go home already. He's not used to being in a shelter, having lived his entire life in a good home, but when his owner became ill and could not care for him any longer, poor Dozer found himself in quite a predicament. Please don't be deterred by Dozer's age. We would never believe he was 9 if his owner didn't tell us. He is spry, spunky, healthy, and does not have any of the hip/leg problems that some older German shepherds become afflicted with. He has plenty of energy and is such an all-around nice guy. He is a little shy when he first meets someone new, but after just a few minutes, he will not leave your side and is your best friend. He is smart and well mannered, but needs a bit of training with leash walking. Dozer is fine with cats and dogs that do not cause him any grief, but will need a home with no young children as he has never been around kids before. Dozer will be your loving and loyal best friend if you give him the chance.

Meet Timber!

Timber is a beautiful 12 year old Korean Jindo that is looking for a wonderful home to rest and relax in. Timber came to us from our Tinton Falls facility when the poor guy was found wandering about as a stray. No one ever came to claim Timber, so now his search begins for a new home with a family that will always take care of him. Timber was a bit neglected throughout his life and although we have treated all of his medical maladies that he came in with, he still has some arthritis to contend with and age-related orthopedic issues. He will need supplements indefinitely. Aside from that, Timber doesn't ask for much, just a family to take him for leisurely strolls and give him some attention. He's such a well behaved, mellow, sweet dog. He is easy going and has excellent manners. Timber was not well socialized with other pets in his day so he will need to be an only dog. He is a loving, loyal, good boy that will love you forever if you give him a chance.

All these wonderful dogs are up for adoption and ready to go home.
