Daniel Inglis, the 24 year old Lanoka Harbor Firefighter and Union City Police Officer, who was paralyzed after an accident outside the Lincoln Tunnel last year, has died. His family confirmed the news to WOBM today.

A viewing will be held on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and then again from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Riggs Funeral Home on Route 9 in Forked River. Funeral services will take place on Friday at the Lanoka Harbor Fire House at 10 A.M.

On Christmas Eve in 2011, Inglis was in a single car accident exiting the Lincoln Tunnel. The accident caused a severe spinal cord injury which left him paralyzed from the neck down. He spent several weeks in Bellevue Hospital in ICU. The community reached out to support him, setting up a Facebook page and holding several fundraisers.

You can post your comments and memories of Inglis below and we will pass them along to his family.
