Fugitive’s Trail Ends at the Shore

A 40-year-old sought in connection with a sexual assault of a minor in South Carolina is apprehended in Monmouth's Ocean Township.

Township police say that Scott Cascone was on the run from Charleston police probing the incident. Authorities there called the shore town after receiving information that Cascone was in the area, police said.

Cascone was taken into custody at a house on Seward Drive on Wednesday, February 26, at about 6:27 PM, police said.

He was placed in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold. His bail was set at $250,000 with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.
