Freehold Man Killed on Route 9 in the Township

A 26-year-old man is dead after being struck while crossing Route 9 South Monday night across from the Wedgewood Gardens Nursing Home, according to Township Police. 

Officer Richard Hudak said the man was hit by a Jackson woman around 11:30 p.m. She stopped, but authorities said additional vehicles that struck the unidentified victim also are being sought for information.

Route 9 South was closed for about three hours during the investigation, which is ongoing.
