Ombudsman Ann Marie Fleury with the Ocean County Court Vicinage said various topics will be discussed at the work shop, "From filing a complaint for eviction, what a landlord's rights and responsibilities are, what tenants can expect when in fact a complaint is brought for eviction."

Fleury said having such knowledge puts tenants and landlords in a better position to be able to avoid having an eviction be filed or having to go and file for an eviction. "Any time an eviction matter is filed, they do go through mediation when they do come to court on that day for landlord-tenant court," said Fleury.

Those who attend will be given handouts on information covered in the work shop as well as additional resources the may need.

The seminar takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Superior Court of New Jersey, Ocean Vicinage, at 100 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, in the Jury Assembly Room on the 1st Floor.
