Four Collared in Lakewood Drug Probe
Ocean County's war on drugs escalates with the arrest of four people suspected of dealing from a house in Lakewood.
Under arrest are Jair Oliver, 19 and Tonya Wall, 36, residing in the Coventry Drive home that was searched by the county's Special Operations Group February 5; Leonard Mathews, 20, of East Kennedy Boulevard in Lakewood; and James Smith, 21, of Fifth Avenue in Toms River.
All four are charged with possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine over one half-ounce with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bails were set at $200,000 each for Oliver and Wall, $150,000 each for Mathews and Smith, in Ocean County Superior Court.
Information from the office of county Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford says that a warrant search of the house revealed more than a half-ounce of cocaine and an unspecified quantity of marijuana, along with packaging materials and about $1185 cash.
Lakewood Township officers in the street crimes unit and ESU team took part in the raid along with a county K-9 team.
