A former employee of a Lakewood oil tank removal company faces trial, accused of skimming more than $75,000 over the course of three and a half years until June 2012.

Victoria Geremonte, 42, of Brick Township, is under indictment for second-degree counts of theft and financial facilitation of criminal activity, according to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph Coronato.

She is free on $75,000 bail. If convicted at trial, Geremonte risks five to 10 years in prison.

Geremonte worked for Certified Environmental Contractors, LLC. Investigators suspect her of diverting 381 checks sent to the company into a a bank account she controlled under the title Certified Environmental Tank Technology.

Brick Township police charged her in October 2012 and turned the case over to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
