The Tinton Falls 48-year old who formerly served in the Asbury Park Police Department has been on the run for over a week since failing to appear for his day in court for a criminal trial on charges he allegedly collaborated with gang leaders in the city.

A warrant was issued for his arrest as a result of German not showing up for court.

German's arrest was apart of 'Operation Dead End', which not only put him in handcuffs but 53-defendants who include a number of Bloods and Crips gang members along with some street-level drug offenders.

The former Asbury Park police officer allegedly tipped the gangs off to law enforcement intelligence to help their criminal activity prosper.

He'll be extricated back to New Jersey and face the trial he was scheduled to show up for in the first place.

His capture was the result of multiple agencies working together including members of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Forces in Raleigh, N.C. and New Jersey, as well as Fugitive teams from, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Monmouth County Sheriff's Office.

Despite these charges, every defendant is presumed innocent, unless and until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, following a trial at which the defendant has all of the trial rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and State law.
