It won't be a direct hit, but New Jersey will feel the effects of Bonnie on Monday to end the Memorial Day weekend.

Our string of hot and humid days will come to an end with showers and thunderstorms on Sunday night continuing into Monday that could be heavy at times and leave 1-2 inches of rain for most of New Jersey.

"No tropical storm or hurricane conditions are in the forecast, but it's worth watching out for." meteorologist Dan Zarrow said. "There is a clear train of atmospheric moisture extending from Bonnie right to New Jersey. That will enhance any rainfall we get Sunday night and Monday. My mantra: never underestimate tropical moisture."
