Bullets fired in Asbury Park Sunday struck two men, killing one and injuring another, according to officials with the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

Charles Webster, Prosecutor's Office spokesman, said 24-year-old Jamar Small of Asbury was pronounced dead at a hospital, and another unidentified 25-year-old city resident was in stable condition, according to NJ Advance Media.

911 calls started coming in shortly before Noon from people who reported hearing gunshots near Summerfield Avenue.

Police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, according to Webster. Both victims were taken to an area hospital, where Small later died, according to NJ Advance Media.

NJ Advance Media reports Small was a 2010 graduate of Asbury Park High School and had recently graduated from Texas University in Houston were he played football.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident, according to Webster. The investigation is ongoing.
