A thick blanket of fog that covered northern New Jersey for much of day is causing problems at the airports.

Newark and Philadelphia have delays on arrivals of 2 1/2 hours according to FlightAware.com while flights into JFK are delayed by nearly an hour and LaGuardia arrivals are delays by 5 hours.

Traffic slowed down noticeably during the morning commute.  The fog was blamed for an accident on Hooper Avenue in Toms River in front of the Ocean County Mall.

Visibility will be reduced this evening as rain develops overnight continuing into Saturday morning when some could mix in before it all ends.  Friday's high temperatures will fall as the day goes on from the 50s into the upper 30s. The rain will end on Saturday morning possibly with some snow mixes in.The rest of Saturday will be sunny.

Another round of winter weather will affect New Jersey on Sunday. Snow will begin to fall late Sunday morning across New Jersey and mix with rain as the afternoon goes on before turning to all rain by evening except in northern areas.
