Burlington Prosecutor Robert Bernardi and Pemberton Police Chief David Jantas today disclosed that Concerns of Police Survivors, Inc. (C.O.P.S.) is paying for, and distributing, more than 600,000 ribbons nationwide.

Jantas, head of the Burlington Police Chiefs Association, and Bernardi say you can claim one at any municipal police department, through the Prosecutor's Office or at the Burlington County Sheriff's Department.

"For the men and women on patrol who are protecting our families and towns, seeing these blue ribbons flying from cars is a tremendous show of support for their courageous service," Bernardi said in prepared remarks. "They also signal that we have not forgotten the sacrifice made by those officers who gave their lives while protecting us from harm."

On Sunday, while the National Peace Officers' Memorial Service takes place in Washington, the annual Burlington County Fallen Officers Memorial Service unfolds in Westampton.

The remembrance begins at 10:30 AM in the Burlington County Public Safety Center on Pioneer Drive. Officers planning to attend should be clad in their departments' Class A uniforms.
