Charges against five new individuals accused of filing for federal Superstorm relief under false pretenses brings the total in the New Jersey Attorney General's office to a half-hundred in the nearly two years since the first allegations were lodged.

None of the five in the information from the office of acting Attorney General John J. Hoffman are listed as living at the Jersey Shore. All are charged with second-degree theft by deception and fourth-degree unsworn falsification.

Convictions on second-degree charges would entail possible prison terms of five to 10 years and fines as high as $150,000. Fourth-degree charges carry sentences up to 18 months and fines up to $10,000 on conviction.

Defendants to date allegedly submitted fraudulent applications for funds managed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), the Small Business Administration (SBA) or the New Jersey Department of Human Services.

Dennis Zawadzki, 63, of Clifton, is accused of collecting $174,051 through FEMA, the Homeowner Resettlement Program (RSP) and the  Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Elevation and Mitigation (RREM) Program for a house on West Potomac Drive in Little Egg Harbor, allegedly claiming it as his primary residence at the time of the storm.

Juli Schaber, 58, of Colonia, allegedly collected $128,313 through FEMA, RSP, RREM and the state's Sandy Homeowner and Renter Assistance Program (SHRAP), for a vacation house on Eisenhower Avenue in Ortley Beach, while living in Edison.

Daniela Cannizzo-Rybak, 36, of Little Falls, is accused of collecting $111,630 through FEMA, RSP, RREM and SHRAP for a house on East Navasink Drive in Little Egg Harbor that she allegedly claimed as her primary dwelling when Sandy hit, while living in an apartment in Garfield.

Nancy L. Fletcher, 54, of Ringwood, allegedly received $32,759 through FEMA and RSP for a houseon Bayberry Road in Lavallette that investigators said she claimed as her primary home during the Superstorm.

Christopher Carlino, 51, of Staten Island, is accused of receiving $56,248 through FEMA, RSP, and SHRAP for a house on Alcala Drive in Brick Township that authorities said he claimed as his primary home at the time of the storm. Investigators said that his applications to RREM and SBA were denied.
