One-stop shoplifting, is essentially how Toms River police describe a November 29 arrest of a Whiting man in a township variety store.

Kristofer Coltenback, 38, was apprehended a short distance from the Route 37 K-Mart, where he allegedly palmed a pair of wire cutters and used them to shear two GOPRO cameras from their tethers.

Officer Brett Hansen responded at about 1:30 PM and, with a loss prevention officer, recovered one of the cameras. Coltenback was found nearby by Officer Robert Westfall.

According to police, Coltenback first claimed that he owned the camera, despite a "For Display Only" label attached to it and the cutters protruding from his pocket.

Shoplifting is a fourth-degree charge, and carries a possible prison term of up to 18 months on conviction. Coltenback's bail was set at $2,500.
