A fire at the Anchor Inn in Ocean Gate Sunday morning damaged the outside of the restaurant and caused minimal damage inside, according to the fire department's Facebook page

No one was injured when the blaze broke out shortly after 8 a.m., and firefighters credit a quick response for keeping damage to a minimum.

The owner, the Ocean Gate Police Department and two unidentified men extinguished most of the flames, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Firefighters from the Ocean Gate and Bayville fire departments finished dousing the flames.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office.
