Back in October we told you about the plans for one of Toms River's final events to celebrate the township's 250th anniversary this year. Next Friday, December 8th, a time capsule will be sealed for future generations to look back on.

The deadline to submit items to be included is this Friday, December 1st.

Township officials are looking for items that are significant to Toms River, and will, "preserve the history of Toms River and give residents and businesses in the Township the opportunity to be a voice in the future".

If you'd like to submit an item, they ask that it be no larger than a fist, and includes a card with your name, address, phone number, and a description of the item.

Items can be dropped off at Town Hall, 33 Washington Street Monday through Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm in the Clerk’s Office.

The sealing ceremony will then take place next Friday, December 8th at 10am at Town Hall, and is free and open to the public.

What would you include in a time capsule to preserve Toms River's history? Comment below and let us know!
