Father and Son Rescued from Sandy Hook Bay
A father and son sailing on a Hobie Cat, were thrown into into Sandy Hook Bay when the vessel capsized Monday afternoon, according to the Coast Guard.
It happened around 5:00 p.m. near the Port Monmouth section of Middletown, prompting a response from Township police and the Coast Guard.
The 51-year-old man and his 13-year-old son were taken by boat to Belford Harbor, then transferred to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank.
The pair did not suffer significant injuries, according to NJ.com.
