A Cranbury man was killed in an accident on Interstate 195 in Jackson that closed the road for several hours on Saturday.

State Police tell the Ocean Signal that Carl Henninger, 27, of Cranbury was killed when he appears to have lost control of his Chevy Lumina while driving eastbound at milepost 23.7 in Jackson around 10:40AM on Saturday morning. He crossed the median onto the westbound side and struck a car driven by struck a car driven by 22 year old Jennifer Balka.  Henninger was ejected from his car and pronounced dead on the scene.

All westbound lanes were closed at exit 22 (Jackson Mills Road) for approximately four hours for a police investigation that snarled traffic around the area.

The accident remains under investigation by New Jersey State Police and the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.
