On Thursday, friends and family members gathered at the Burlington County Public Safety Center at the Fallen Officers Memorial in Westampton for a memorial service to remember fallen NJ State Trooper Sean Cullen.

Becoming a New Jersey State trooper was a lifelong dream for Cullen, the 31-year-old trooper who died earlier this week after being struck by a vehicle as he stood alongside Route 295 in West Deptford at the scene of a car fire Monday evening.

During the vigil, those who knew the Cinnaminson High School graduate spoke about his sense of humor and dedication to his family, NJ Advance Media reported. Cullen leaves behind a fiancee and 9-month old son.

Prior to becoming a NJ state trooper, Cullen was a member of the Mount Holly and Westampton police departments. He was born in Ireland but moved to the United States with his family as a child.

A GoFundMe page was created to offer financial assistance to Cullen's fiancee and son.

"This fund, in Sean's memory, will provide care and assistance to the people who meant the most to him, his family," according to the page, which has already raised more than $85,000.

Cullen’s funeral will be Monday at the St. Charles Borromeo Church, 2500 Branch Pike, Cinnaminson. Parking will be limited, according to state police.
